Truly controls excess oils, feels great on the skin but leaves a white cast

After my nightmare experience with Skin1004's Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum, I was looking for a matte Korean sunscreen... which is actually quite hard to find. I saw this product and that it was described as having a semi-matte finish. If you're not quite sure what that means either, I would describe it as having a matte finish which doesn't make you look cryptkeeper-dry.
It is lightweight and, out of the tube, has a creamy texture (rather than being lotion-like) and does not pill. If you touch your face after application, it feels like fresh, balanced, bare skin - you don't feel like there's a layer of moisturiser sitting on your skin. So far, so good - this is everything I was looking for.
BUT this leaves a white cast on my light skin - I'm not sure if that is as a result of the silica which is providing the very effective oil control or whatever is very effectively reducing the redness in the skin. To be fair, the product description makes clear that it "leaves a minimal white cast" - but I have been so spoiled with good Korean skincare products that this reminded me of "just like the best European sunscreen" (i.e., certainly not awful but also not good enough anymore).
